Search Forum. Its not that the deer want come to it they just dont need those type of minerals in the winter like they do in the summer so therfore they will visit the salt block less frequently. I use the livestock mineral red and the salt white blocks for my licks.

Being a natural salt rock, it seems like a healthy option for animals. The deer seem to like it in the summer for sure. My only complaint is that it can dissolve overnight if it is in a puddle of water or if we get heavy rains; you need to keep it elevated. The deer will still come to the area even after it is dissolved.
