Ever been in there? And I have it on good authority that, with the right combination of money and charm, and the right girl, she will slip off with you somewhere and do a lot more. How do I know all this?
Our case of the week involves two strip club cases we worked over the holidays. Many licenses throughout the United States were granted to the clubs by the cities and municipalities of each state. Some were more strict than others.
Lake County on Tuesday considered whether to ease restrictions on where strip clubs could be built. Commissioners momentarily entertained the idea to avoid being sued by people who want to build a "gentleman's club" in south Lake along State Road We could debate the morality of topless clubs for many hours.
In our last column, Susan, 49, was upset that her fiance goes with two of his friends to strip clubs three times a year to celebrate their birthdays. They did, in droves. The women in strip clubs are interested in only one thing — money, and not some old guy looking for a lap dance.
They would buy private dances from nearly all the entertainers working a shift. They bought drinks for themselves, anyone seated nearby and anyone who asked. They sat in the back corner of the club, night after night, sipping beer and mixed drinks, often surrounded by dancers and waitresses.
City officials call it bureaucratic fine-tuning -- a proposed ordinance banning close contact between topless dancers and customers at two Lake Forest strip clubs. But to the dancers, bouncers and managers at Captain Cream, a freeway-close adult club in the south Orange County community, the ordinance could be a business killer. The proposed ordinance would ban physical contact between entertainers and customers, such as the practice of dancers sauntering through the largely male crowd, collecting tips.
