Mammary mucinous cystadenocarcinoma MCA is a rare type of invasive breast cancer that derives its name from having a virtually identical morphologically to mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of the pancreas, appendix, or ovary. In addition, this condition is also distinct from cystic hypersecretory carcinoma of the breast. I just want to let you know that I have a newer version of this page with more up-to-date information on lobular types of breast cancer.
The majority of cases have been intraductal carcinomas. The age distribution of cystic hypersecretory carcinoma is similar to that of breast carcinoma in general 3 with the youngest patient being 34 years old and the oldest thus far reported at 79 years. The presenting symptom has usually been a mass or other palpable abnormality. Nipple discharge is uncommon, but can be hemorrhagic.
A year-old woman who had shown no abnormal findings at an examination for breast cancer performed one year before was seen at the hospital because of a right breast mass which had been felt since 1. A mass 1. We decided to follow the patient's clinical course.
