Youth may also stop by The Alameda in Santa Clara at any time for help. Through intensive individual, group and family counseling the shelter's program strives to reunite families whenever possible, prevent future problems and stabilize the lives of young people to keep them safe. A typical day in the shelter includes family-style meals that the youth help prepare each day, assigned chores, school, family and individual counseling sessions, and workshops.
We also fund specialized programming for runaway and homeless young people who are pregnant and parenting, sexually-exploited, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning LGBTQ youth. We are committed to providing funding for a variety of services in order that all runaway and homeless young people will have access to the resources they need to get off the streets and stabilize their lives. Provide homeless youth ages with longer-term shelter, in addition to the training and support they need to establish an independent life.
In each program we offer, participants build deep relationships with one another as well as our staff that continue to positively impact their lives long after they move on from our programs. More than just a safe place to stay, Ignite utilizes a comprehensive model with supportive services and action plans to ensure youth are on a path that includes personal and economic growth. Runaway and homeless youth RHY comprise a large population of young people who reside outside the control and protection of parents and guardians and who experience numerous traumas and risk factors, but few buffering resources. Specialized settings have developed to serve RHY, but little is known about their effects. The present cross-sectional qualitative descriptive study, grounded in the positive youth development approach and the Youth Program Quality Assessment model, addressed this gap in the literature.
Each year, thousands of U. Through the Runaway and Homeless Youth Program RHYFYSB supports street outreach, emergency shelters and longer-term transitional living and maternity group home programs to serve and protect these young people. SOPs focus on developing relationships between outreach workers and young people that allow them to rebuild connections with caring adults.
